The portrait above and the self portrait below were drawn whilst taking part in the ITV program 'A Brush with Fame' on 31st August 2005.

Filmed in Brighton, I succeeded in getting into the second round of the competition where the number of artists had been whittled down to 25 from the original 60 taking part. The program was aired on the 10th October 2005, the first in a series  filmed at major cities in the UK. Each city sent one winning artist to a national final to find the best amateur portrait painter in the country with a cash prize of £10,000 and a fine art publishing deal.

The self portrait was done in 30 minutes using a mirror and the celebrity portrait of  Jenny Eclair was drawn from the model  in a library setting in 3 hours. Standards were very high and it was a challenging and rewarding day.
